The partnership between the Universities of Cardiff and Nantes provides tremendous opportunities in personal, social and professional terms. Our main aim is to contribute to the tightening of Franco-British relationships. Through the association we also aim to help the British students to integrate into the university. Furthermore, we think there is value in creating and maintaining a dynamic network of alumni students from the program. This network will enable associates to draw on the experiences of the students who have gone before them and continued on to success. By extension, the association will be able to get members together with the aim of consolidating and promoting the network. The founders of the Association. |
Considering the constant increase in globalization throughout most of the world, it is no surprise that legal systems across the world are rapidly changing. The familiarisation with other legal systems should become an integral part of University legal education.
The LLB Law and French at Cardiff Law School is a four-year programme that enables students to obtain an honour degree in Law with French linguistic, culture and law components. Students become competent in the law of England and Wales, but also fluent in French, familiar with the general culture, political institutions and legal system of France. A distinctive feature of the programme is the year abroad during the third year. Students spend a year studying at a French university of which Nantes is partner. The year abroad is a great opportunity to travel and discover other cultures and lifestyles whilst still in University. The Law and French degree programme combined with the year abroad is a lifetime experience which will greatly enhance students’ career opportunities.
