LLB Law and French
A particular strength of the Law and French programme is the wealth of opportunities that it provides for you to engage with cutting-edge research in law and related disciplines and use it to critique established and developing bodies of Law. Across the programme the importance of understanding law in its social context is emphasised.
The LLB Law and French programme is a full-time, four-year honours degree. Academic years consist of two semesters and you are required to complete modules to the value of 120 credits during each year of your studies. You will spend one year abroad at a university in France. During the course of the degree, you will be able to take the core modules that constitute a law degree.
You will receive a thorough grounding in the Law of England and Wales with an introduction to the French legal system. In the School of Modern Languages, you will undertake French language studies comprising of compulsory language modules involving tuition to obtain proficiency in reading, speaking and writing French. You will also study language related-option modules that focus on the study of French and francophone culture and society.
